The combination of two analogue processes; slides have been stitched with black thread. The threads combine with the heat of the projector bulb to create new life, an independent flickering that joins in with the action on the slide. The medium mimics the process. This would have seemed like a miraculous animation in a pre-digital time. The texture of the images evokes photographic book illustrations, but also calls to mind the texture of cloth.The enlarged hands are freeze-framed with only the disobedient thread in motion.
